I'm traveling on foot, and called to confirm that the campground took tenters. He said he did, and I explained that I had been walking, and it was raining, so I was sitting at a restaurant waiting for it to quit before I headed that way. Tom, the owner, instead, insisted on coming to get me! He showed up in like five minutes and patiently waited while I finished my beer and gathered my things. We loaded my gear into his truck and he drove me to a cute little cabin, and he let me stay for free! That's great service! The campground itself is nice, sits right on the river, it's quiet (you can hear traffic but this isn't a national park campground, it's in town), there are flush toilets and showers, it's quite a pleasant place. I wish it had been nice weather when I arrived, so I could have walked around the grounds more and seen more of the campground. It's early in "the season" but I imagine this place will get pretty busy with people looking to get away. Anyway, I was shown incredibly nice service, out of the ordinary, and that deserves five stars!

We have stayed in this campground off and on for the past five years and we always come back. I just can't get enough of that river. We love the weeping willows all a long the tent section it's one of the most beautiful settings along the susquehanna river I have ever seen. The people are always ready to help you and when it rained the night we where there the owner let us stay another night for free. We did a lot of fishing and caught cat fish bass and some fish I never seen before. Did some kayaking and swimming we all had a wonderfull time and would reckamend this place to anyone that loves camping on the river in the middel of the PA mountains.

Responding to the last negitive responce that was apack of lies from a disgruntled camper that was trying to get even. The bathhouse is always cleaned and toilet paper is always available and on the rollers. There is no bacterica in the water. Also there has been a water treatment system installed for the iron and sulfer in the water. There are some people that will not keep their dogs on a leash, but there is a leash law. There were some chickens and a miniture goat that we had to get rid of, but there are still some turkeys and a pee cock. We don't have too many open spots. Most people stay for a long time and never want to leave. This campground is along the river and is very scenic.

I have been a seasonal camper here for 6years and find it very relaxing and friendly. There are occasions when the music gets a little load but this is usually when a band or Kareoke night is going on. It is all in fun and if you keep an open mind it is a lot of fun! Tom, the campground owner and his handyman Bill are always willing to lend a helping hand if necessary and keep things in "tow". I am a senior citizen and often take my great grandchildren with me for the week and they have a very good time and have met many new friends here as I have also. Come and join us for a good time this summer.
